| Many people equate the word "daemon" with the word "demon", implying some kind of satanic connection between UNIX and the underworld. This is an egregious misunderstanding. "Daemon" is actually a much older form of "demon"; daemons have no particular bias towards good or evil, but rather serve to help define a person's character or personality. so in order to help to bridge the gap between the servants of Yahuay and the parts of the linux community who see the meaning of the word daemon differently !a! is changing the name to linux automated software servant (lass) becuase lass seems to give followers of Yahuay more of an understanding of a humble servant who is neither biased toward good or evil. for this reason !a! will attempt to locate references to daemons throughout the linux operating system and change them to the term lass. for an example !a! will attempt to rename all such services so that instead of ending in d that they will end in "_lass".
lass has the added benefit that it shares assonance with the word "less" as a reminder us to always keep our computers idol-less so that they might idle-less. additionally the word lass is also meaning a young female which reminds us that every woman used to be somebody's lass and therefore ought to be treated with dignity and respect. so it is also a reminder to us all that a big part of !a! is eliminate pornography from our computer environments as pornography is the ultimate example of useless eye candy that does harm both to cause degradation of our computer systems and our souls.
